Lead UX/UI Designer

RemoteNetherlands, Utrecht, UtrechtDevelopment team

Job description

Do you want to become part of a fast-growing Dutch scale-up in the sharing economy? Do you want to work with an international team of passionate people with a passion for travel? Then join our growing team! Be part of the leading motorhome sharing platform in Europe, and have a positive impact on how people spend their leisure time.

We are looking for a fulltime UX/UI Designer with at least 4 years of relevant experience to join our rapidly expanding team. As the lead designer of our company, you will be responsible for the user experience of our motorhome sharing platform. You have a leading voice in how our platform feels and works, so we can continue to delight our users all across Europe, and let them experience the freedom of motorhome traveling.

This could be your day

During the morning standup at 09:16, you answer one or two questions from the engineers that came up during development of a new feature. At 10:00h, you sit down with the product owner to discuss how we can improve the usability of our search page. There are some cool ideas for flexible search that need further detailing. After lunch (and a short walk along the canals of Utrecht), you have a meeting with our marketing team to discuss how we can integrate a campaign into our homepage. You spend the afternoon delivering designs and updating the design system accordingly. Tomorrow, we have a user research session with the product team, something great to look forward to.

In short, your work involves

  • Delivering delightful and consistent UI design, considering all parts of our platform (traveler and owner side), and of course our native mobile app

  • Providing overview of our user experience across all touch points, by mapping out customer journeys and/or service blueprints

  • Maintaining and expanding our design system, taking into consideration our brand values

  • Conduct user & usability research, and utilize tools like Hotjar to understand our users

  • Working closely together with our product owners and developers, but also with the marketing, content and growth hacking teams.

Meet some of the people you will work with

Team

You will be a member of the product team, which is expanding rapidly. We work with freelance designers at the moment. The product team is closely connected to our in-house development team (± 10 engineers). You will mainly work with our Head of Product and Product Owner, but also with your colleagues from marketing, data, growth hacking, content and local country teams. Our organization is growing just as fast as our platform, and we expect you to play an active role in this growth.

Job requirements

You will do great in this role when you

  • Feel and act as the main responsible person for the overall user satisfaction of our platform, proposing improvements that you think will be impactful.

  • Have a natural feel for branding, as we believe that our UI is a core brand touch point.

  • Enjoy working closely with many different people: product owners, marketeers, growth hackers, developers, and other business stakeholders.

  • Not only created great designs, but also being able to communicate them verbally and in prototypes and ready-to-develop handovers.

  • Understand the flexible and demanding nature of a fast growing scale-up.

  • Being a great problem solver, but also a great problem identifier, based on your sharp analytical skills and sense for good user experience.
